On the golden path
Of the forest sat the dove
With all reverency.
The forest bright and
Shining light of earthen bloom
Kept evil at bay.
Once darkness consumed,
The ominous clouds showed all
Who dare ventured in.
The ghosts of past days
Lurked beyond in the shadows,
Dooming all who came.
They appeared from mists,
Hunting for those who wander,
Stealing away souls.
Roamers often passed,
Ragged and short on all luck,
Begging for new life.
One by one they stayed,
Finding new beginnings here.
The brave found new hope.
The forest transformed
Inch by inch the light regained,
casting shadows off.
Light and life returned.
The dove with all reverency
Returned to its bough.
